Nebbiolo is one of the great wine varieties of Italy. It is grown extensively in the north-west of Italy, particularly in Piedmonte where it makes the fabulous wines of Barolo and Barbarsco.
The 2006 vintage in Mudgee was excellent for Nebbiolo and encouraged us to release a varietal version of this classic Piedmontese grape. Ruby red in colour, Nebbiolo’s typical underlying earthiness combines with rose and dried herb aromas. Matured in old oak and bottled early to retain its full freshness, the palate is never the less typically Nebbiolo—dryish tannins supporting a savoury palate. Enjoy with rich game meats or porchini funghi.
