Nebbiolo is one of the great wine varieties of Italy. It is grown extensively in the north-west of Italy, particularly in Piedmonte where it makes the famous wines of Barolo and Barbaresco.
The 2009 vintage in Mudgee was good for Nebbiolo, allowing our vines to reach full maturity. Typically light brick in colour, this release is noticeably richer in dried herb aromas as well as fuller in pallet than its predecessor. Matured in three year old oak for a longer time (thirteen months) than is our recent norm, this wine is one that will age well, and a good match for rich game meats and porchini funghi.
Approximately 8.6 standard drinks, 14.5% alcohol.
