Vermentino is a relatively rare variety found mostly on the island of Sardinia and the western coast of the mainland in the provinces of Tuscany and Liguria.
It is also known as Rolle in the south of France and Corsica. The fruit for this wine comes from one of the few plantings in Australia, located in southern NSW. The vineyard was in fact the first to produce Vermentino fruit in Australia and di Lusso Estate was the first wine producer in Australia to release a Vermentino wine, from the 2004 vintage.
