Vivo is an expressive Italian word, meaning alive, or awake. We think this to be an appropriate name for this, our very first frizzante style wine.
The 2008 Vivo! is styled on Moscato d’Asti, the famous DOCG wine from north west Italy which is produced mainly around the Piedmontese towns of Asti and Alessandria (and made from the sweet white muscat wine grape, which is also used for its higher alcohol, bubbly cousin Asti Spumanti).
In this first release, we have used Aleatico fruit, picked at low sugar levels (9 beaume) courtesy of a wet humid early summer in Mudgee, to yield a semi-sweet, low alcohol wine.
Approximately 5.8% alcohol.
