The Wine

Chardonnay is a vigorous, heavy cropping variety with medium sized bunches. It enters the winery with little obvious vineyard personality – a ‘blank canvass’ ready for the wine-makers intervention

Viticulture and Harvest

Wine was purchased from First Estate in the Hunter Valley. It was transferred to both hogshead and stainless steel tank (where French oak staves were added for six months). The wine was bottled September 2022. 

Winemaking

Free run juice was settled and racked, innoculated and fermented in steel. Finished 3 months in new French oak (30%).Analysis: pH 3.35, Residual sugar 2g/ L, Alcohol 13.4%

Tasting Notes

The palate is dry and medium- bodied with light tannins, tropical fruit flavours and a long finish. May be cellared for up to 5 years.
