The Italian term sagra is used to define a local festival where a specific local food is celebrated in a banquet of wine and food.
This is an invitation to join us at di Lusso Estate Estate for our fourth annual festival at di Lusso Estate, to celebrate the glorious fig! Here's part of the menu I’m considering so far…
ON ARRIVAL: Fig, Honey, Thyme, and Prosecco Smash, fresh fig Margherita
SERVED WITH: A collection of fig oeuvres (‘spuntini’) such as bruschetta with capocollo (a toast flavoured with honey and cracked black pepper and dumplings with a ‘figgy surprise’
ENTREE: Caramelised shallot, onion and fig relish crostini.
PASTA: Fresh fig, prosciutto and pine nut fettucini, served with toasted goat’s cheese and squash blossom salad.
MAIN: Chicken fig saltimbocca and Italian Luganega sausage infused with dried figs and fennel.
DESSERT: ’Fearless’ lavender fig panna cotta, served in a bowl of fig gelato.
All dishes will be matched with di Lusso Estate wines.
